There is no doubt most of us have had a very slow start to holidays this year. Luckily, that’s all about to change! From 13th June 2020, Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort’s doors will be open once again for our guests to stay and play… and we want to make up for lost time. Let’s celebrate together again. How about a second Easter, or spoiling Mum again with Mother’s Day 2.0?
Our team has collated our top Sunshine Coast outings we hope you will enjoy during your next visit.
1. The only way to start your day
It’s no surprise sunrise over Mudjimba Beach is an absolute must see during your stay! Executive Assistant Manager Commercial Rachel starts every morning with a warm cup of caffeine from our local coffee connoisseurs, The Island Surf & Espresso Bar. Home to some of our beloved quirky locals, say hi to the community and sip on a fresh brew on an early morning beach walk to watch the sunrise.
2. Explore the region and support local business
Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort’s Marketing Executive Sam, recommends all guests to drive the Maleny to Gympie Tourist Drive. “Now is the perfect time to see the diversity the Sunshine Coast has to offer. I encourage all guests to use the resort as your base, and plan day trips to explore and support the local community.” Must-stop locations include an ice cream from The Maleny Food Co and participate in the iconic 1kg cream bun challenge from Kenilworth Bakery. On the way home, wash down the treats with a cold drink at Terella Brewery; your local craft beers with a twist.
3. Pack your walking shoes!
Wedding Executive and walking trail enthusiast Maddie, says the best way to work off the delectable road trip treats is by exploring the great outdoors. Winter on the Sunshine Coast famously boasts bright sunny days with mild temperatures, creating an idyllic atmosphere for visiting the Mount Coolum summit walk, offering 360 degree views of the Sunshine Coast coastal region. If the tranquil tropics are more your style, you’ll love the Buderim Forest Serenity Falls. Welcoming visitors with its picturesque waterfall and surrounding tranquil sub-tropical rainforest, Buderim Forest is only a short 20 minute drive away.
4. De-stress your mind and seek retail therapy
Sunshine Plaza and some of our favourite retailers are open again and ready for you to shop till you drop! Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort fashionista and Event Executive Hannah, recommends dedicating at least half a day to exploring the hundreds of retailers on offer. “I love to get lost, finding the best bargains and latest trends within the Plaza. To refuel my body for more shopping I have to stop and grab a meal along the Riverwalk”. Just 10 minutes from the resort, definitely add this one to your travel itinerary!
5. Top it off with 18 holes!
No trip is complete to Twin Waters without a visit to the legendary Twin Waters Gold Club. Home to 18 hole, 72 par championship course, internationally recognized as one of the top 6 resort courses in Australia, test your swing and buggy driving skills along the stunning and challenging course. You might even spot our local golf aficionado, General Manager Warwick!
